Aspiring To Greatness

It’s 1:22am EST. What are you doing?

I’m still up. I went upstairs to my room at 11:30pm.

I can’t sleep.

I spent the weekend at a conference.

That’s right – I go to conferences on subjects that I want to learn more about – things that make me better at what I do.

So I go and hang out with people who are smarter than me and have already done and are currently doing what I want to do and are where I want to be.

And I meet other people who are like-minded. They want to do and be the same.

And it’s cool.

What do you want to do?

What do you want to be?

Strength comes in many forms. Become great at what you do. That’s the path to strength.

Go find out what you love to do and do more of it. Become stronger.

Aspire for more. Be stronger.

Become great. Be strong.

Then give back.

That’s real strength.

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

– Winston Churchill

Hmm… That would explain that burning sensation then… 😉

Seriously, though – thanks for the feedback.

That’s the goal, buddy, that’s the goal… Go BIG or Go Home, right?

        Yes

        Progress Report :

        Swings goal 24 kg x 80 continuous cycles of 15:15 5 reps a cycle.
        Attained –

Now starting with 2 arm swings w 32 kg started at 20 cycles of 7 reps 15:15, second workout did 25 cycles + 10 more rounds of 1 arm with 16 kg just for more volume.

Snatches – Initial Goal 100 snatches in 5 minutes with 24 kg.
Using 30:30 attained that goal this week, now will move to 15:15 w 24 kg as my heavy day, while continuing the assault to 80 continuous cycles with 16kg. Made 50 cycles yesterday + three sets of 10 additional rounds with 2 minutes rest in between. So have now made it to 80 just need to keep going to do one continuous set of 80 rounds. Strength going up, lost 14 pounds of blubber in last 6 weeks. Gymboss ….that beeping sounds almost evil at times, but no doubt the VO2 Max protocol will condition you. Keeping on the TGU’s, keeping silent for the most part and clawing my way up the ladder.

      “Say!
I like green eggs and ham!
      I do!! I like them, Sam-I-am!
And I would eat them in a boat!
And I would eat them with a goat…
And I will eat them in the rain.
And in the dark. And on a train.
And in a car. And in a tree.
They are so good so good you see!

So I will eat them in a box.
And I will eat them with a fox.
And I will eat them in a house.
And I will eat them with a mouse.
And I will eat them here and there.
Say! I will eat them ANYWHERE!

      I do so like
      green eggs and ham!
      Thank you!
      Thank you,
      Sam-I-am”

aaahh Geeeeeofffff, here i was just lying here, doing my ‘dead bug on the carpet’ routine.. and here you come, little kick, hey you’re missing all the fun… what? what fun? all the fun doing what you love… what!!??
so i been contemplating what do i love… evening, into the night, middle of night in my journal, this morning… look what you did..
now i’ve perked up, back to cheery bunny again… with lots of fun to anticipate that i had forgotten about when i got swept up in the office dramas…. muchos grazias 🙂
p.s. you’re the only person i know who would email asking for help and then say ‘i am emailing to find out how i can help you’ Just that alone spelled relief to me as i’m one who usually holds it all together for everyone else… can’t even remember the last time anyone offered me help – just to get the offer was thrilling!

      “Cheery Bunny” –

Now go do what you love!

    Geoff,
Love your blog. You nailed it. It’s said that you become the average of the top 5-7 people you surround yourself with. So, that being said, refer back to the lines of your blog about being with like minded people, and people who have already done what you want to do. Keeping positive, upbeat, people around you is always beneficial!
