The Best Kettlebell Workout You’ve Never Done (even for Stress Relief)

by GEOFFN on November 17, 2011

As promised – here’s the video with the Stress-Relieving kettlebell workout.

The video’s kinda long – but for a very good reason – I wanted to make sure you got the full background of why this workout is going to help you out and how to set it up.

Enjoy!

Nice work on the references in the presentation too!

Yes, intensity, volume and density are awesome forms of overload, but rarely discussed all at once.

Rock on

Do you think the “Long Cycle Clean and Jerk” is just as beneficial as the “Olympic lift” ??

Reply

GEOFFN November 18, 2011 at 8:11 am

Nancy – the Long Cycle C+J is a variation of the barbell C+J which is a contested Olympic lift. So, yes, I do. I even wrote a little book a couple of years ago where I also asserted this. Give it a shot.

I’m looking to buy the program with the two bonus but I cannot see where to do that. Please let me know.

Yep, me too. Looking to purchase, but where on earth is the link for this product?

Some crazy marketing ploy?

Geoff seems like a great guy, perhaps he will send the Joes the information for free since we have been waiting anxiously for it. I even spent an hour searching everywhere on the Internet.

Yeah, this Joe also done the search thing the same.

Must be an Neupert coup on people named Joe.

Done us good to.

But also did send me a link to purchase.

The link comes in mid way through the video just underneath the video as you are watching it and once the video is over then the link disappears.

If you have only one bell do you do 15-20reps per hand or split the reps per hand

Reply

GEOFFN November 20, 2011 at 7:47 am

Pat – do them all with one hand. Then do the next set with the other hand.

HI Geoff. I have a couple questions I’d like to ask you. Can the long cycle clean and jerk be performed in a manner similiar to return of the kettlebell i.e. ladders and would it be ok to perform it like the full barbell version i.e. from a deadstop and the full squat clean? Also I have recently been diagnosed with shoulder arthritis(left shoulder). What would be your advise regarding overhead work?

GEOFFN November 20, 2011 at 7:46 am

Hi Seth – the LCCJ is just an exercise. The reps, sets, and rest dictate the outcome or adaptation. For the purpose of this workout and its benefits, follow the guidelines suggested. Ask your doctor about your limitations. Hope that helps.

sent a quick note via e-mail.
this couldn’t have come at a better time.
Not only do I have the holidays, but I started a new job and then my father passed away. My order was in immediately

I just have kettlebells and was a little confused over terminology since there was not a video. When you say “push press” is this just doing a clean, lifting with the heal and then pushing it overhead? I have heard of a “long push press” where by you clean, do a squat and then push up as you come out of the squat.

Thanks.

David – yup – clean the KB, quick dip with the knees and drive the bell up over the head.

Geoff, which is better for fat loss, KB Express or KB Burn? Thanks.

GEOFFN November 21, 2011 at 10:39 pm

Andy – They’re both great. People will see results on both. If you’re really over-worked and over-stressed, “Express!” will probably work better for you.

Hi

Does Kettlebell Express cover the workouts that are in you book ‘kettlebell muscle’?
I ask because you express so many exercises in kettbell express that I figured it might just also include the workouts from ‘kettlebell muscle’. Which I was contemplating buy until this just turned up.
And I would like to add some mass.

Thanks

GEOFFN November 22, 2011 at 6:53 am

No Susy, it does not include the “Kettlebell Muscle” program/workouts.

Susy November 22, 2011 at 2:51 pm

Hi Geoff

I’m probably getting ahead of myself. I re-read the info and deduced this was meant to be for ‘stress relief’ program etc.. not muslce mass.
Does it include beginner programs for the stress buster workouts?

I don’t mean never swung a kb before, but beginner as in break in workouts for these stress workouts.

Reply

GEOFFN November 22, 2011 at 3:42 pm

Susy – yes it does. The first 4 workouts are “break in” workouts. The book progresses from simple workouts to more complicated an advanced programs. I put it together with all “kettlebell age groups” in mind – from novice to advanced. Both in terms of lifting skills and stress relief. Hope that helps.

Hi Geoff

Yes your reply helped greatly. But my boy friend had already decided, and had purchased before I got your reply before the clock/offer run out as we’re on a different time scale to where you are and it’s bedtime.

But thanks for getting back to me.

GEOFFN November 22, 2011 at 7:40 pm

Cool Susy. You’ll love the programs in there.
